First Annual NASA Dryden Expedition-1 BaseCamp!
The NASA-Dryden Education Office in cooperation with the AERO Institute
is pleased to announce the First Annual NASA Dryden Expedition-1 BaseCamp!
Can my child or niece/nephew apply?
E-1 BaseCamp is open for application
to 6th, 7th or 8th graders whose parent/guardian has base privileges. (Entering
grades 6-8 in the Fall.)
* There will be a competitive selection process and 30 students will be
admitted.
What is so special about this camp?
E-1 BaseCamp Cadets will gain a unique
perspective of NASA by participating in hands-on activities such as: building
rockets & airplanes, competing in junk war challenges, and designing
team mission patches. E-1 BaseCamp will cover topics such as: Aeronautics
History, The Space Shuttle, Moon & Mars, The Space Station; and E-1
BaseCamp Cadets will tour NASA Dryden faculties, laboratories and hangers.
When/Where will the camp take place?
E-1 BaseCamp will be held daily Monday-Friday
in NASA building 4839 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. July 30th - August 3rd.
The Presentation Day/Awards Ceremony for parents and guests will be held
at the AERO Institute on Saturday, August 4th in Palmdale.
How to apply?
1. Download application/brochure
2. Student fills out Part A, Part B, and Part C (Note: Part B - students
choose 5 questions to answer.)
3. Parent/Guardian signs application permission form to give student permission
to apply for program.
Completed applications must be received no later than Tuesday May 29th
to NASA Dryden bldg. 4839
